The Journey –
Tom O’Sullivan’s arrival in McCarthy’s pub immediately raises Mikey Ryan’s suspicions. In a village where everyone’s routine is the subject of gossip, what is he doing there? The mystery deepens when pub owner, Mary McCarthy returns from tending her hens. While they await the news of a life-changing event, they find themselves embarking on a journey that can only have one ending.
Per Verse -
Forty years on, Pecker Stubbs still bears the scars of a war which had taken the life of his
cousin, William Power. He is also bitter about the treatment meted out to returning Irish
soldiers, who had fought with the King against Nazi Germany. Pecker’s only refuge is the
hospitality extended by a fellow war veteran who runs a bookshop in Dublin. However,
beneath the surface, his internal demons are always lurking, and when a customer unwittingly
fans his simmering resentment, every ounce of Pecker’s pent-up fury is unleashed with
