Think Like an Archaeologist Easter Camp
Have you ever wondered how archaeologists understand past societies through objects buried for thousands of years? Well now your budding archaeologist can learn some of the techniques used while also trying to understand people from the past. We will be looking at pottery, writing, tool making and how our museum works, as well as many other archaeological ideas. This camp is suitable for children from second class to sixth class and will be thought by a former archaeologist who has 10 years experience working on Irish excavations.
This camp is over four days and runs in the mornings. It will include a break so bringing a small snack is advisable. It is very hands on with pottery making, cave painting, ink making and more. It will culminate in an exhibition for the parents, of the pieces that have been created during the camp, which will be curated by the children. So come prepared to have fun and get your hands dirty!
