An Evening of Argentinian Tango

A rare opportunity to hear a Bandoneon in live performance. This instrument is synonymous with the sound of the Argentinian tango. A complex and difficult instrument to master, it is nonetheless a hauntingly beautiful sound that lends a unique quality to the music.
Jamie Toomey (Ireland) and Agustina Taborda (Argentina) are a duo consisting of acoustic guitar, bandoneón and vocals.
Argentine Chamame, Milonga and Tango feature alongside Parisian Swing, Italian Tarantella, and American popular music.
Their unique repertoire calls on number of exciting musical styles and genres.
Meeting by chance at a recording session in Galway in March 2017. They have since performed in Ireland and Italy, mixing their respective repertoires of Tango and Swing in amongst other lively genres. They are currently working on an album and look forward to performing together in the coming year.
This is a ticket event, (available on the door) Adults are €5 and Students €2. Children under the age of 10 are free.
