Teagasc Farm to Fork Short Value Chains Seminar

As part of the designation of the Galway & West of Ireland as the 2018 European Region of Gastronomy, Teagasc are hosting this networking seminar which will showcase some of the best examples of food producers from Galway and across Europe, who have created more direct pathways from farm to fork.
9.30am – 1.00pm Claregalway Hotel - Morning Workshop
This session will include presentations from:
Mr. Ronan Byrne of Larder 360 and The friendly Farmer will tell the story behind the creation of Larder 360 and how producers can connect to local consumers.
Dr. John Hyland, Teagasc will discuss the challenges for local food producers and give insights gathered from his involvement from European projects focusing on local food.
2.00-4.30pm Field Visit - Organic Farm and Farm Shop
Visit to local organic farm Green Earth Organics, Corrandulla where Jenny and Kenneth Keavey are farming organically and are marketing produce through on-line sales, home delivery market and an on farm shop.
