Fancy an original experience? Discover how life was lived in the Coffee Houses of Dublin and then taste the coffee they drank! We will begin in 1690, the year that changed Dublin culturally, socially and  historically and laid the foundations for Dublin's Georgian wealth. Coffee Houses in 1700's were centres of commerce and trade where so much of Dublin life was lived and we will understand why.  We will stroll for about an hour stopping at significant points where duels were fought, merchants traded, information was exchanged and coffee was drunk. We will immerse ourselves in the characters such as Johnathon Swift and how he got into hot water with a Queen. We will learn about the people who published, auctions which were held and lives which were lived by the new rich of 1700's Dublin. We will see how they influenced the arts, public thinking and trade. We will have quotes and drama to understand the players in a very different time. Then we will go to a beautiful Georgian Coffee House and have a tasting experience. There may even be some entertainment in this secret location to help us relive this era. This is a very relaxing and fun Tour ideal for the jet lagged, older, parents of small children, disabled and groups wanting to enjoy a gentle pace. There are few steps and only two hills.
