A spirited level 2 hatha flow followed by a deeply restorative Yin yoga practice. Duration: 120 mins.
The Yang portion of the workshops consists of a slow hatha flow where asanas are held little longer than usual to develop strength, mindfulness in the flow, and stability. This portion of the practice focuses on hamstrings, quadriceps and core engagement to prepare for back-bends and inversions.
Yin yoga can be considered both preventative and restorative. The meditative practice of remaining still for long periods without an agenda of manipulation influences and enhances the yin aspects (quality) of chi, while tugging on the connective tissue affects the redistribution of chi/prana, enhancing its yang aspect (mobility). Yin yoga is a complimentary practice to yang yoga because it helps prevent joint rigidity and immobility, while also helping to enliven degenerative tissues and simultaneously nourishing the meridians.
This workshop will leave you enlivened, revitalised and deeply rested in body and mind!
