This Autumn, Réamonn Keary and Lorna Horan will visit centres throughout the country to present the 2019-2022 RIAM piano syllabus and new piano albums. All repertoire from Elementary to Grade VIII will be performed and discussed, with particular focus on the technical and musical details that can cause dificulty for the student. The workshop will span one and a half days, to allow sufficient time to discuss the senior repertoire. Participants will receive a copy of the Key Skills Handbook, with copies of the annotated scores for all pieces from the new Piano Albums, and teaching notes for each grade. The focus of these sessions will include: Preparing the peices for exam performance Discussing the potential challenges in each piece and how to overcome them Recognising the style and character of each piece How to approach the exam day Saturday 6th Oct: Elementary - Grade V, half day (3 hours) 1pm - 4pm Sunday 7th Oct: Grade VI - Senior Certificate, full day (6 hours, inlcuding lunch break) 10am - 4pm For additional information visit: www.network.riam.ie Stay connected with the Royal Irish Academy of Music Teaching Network: Facebook Twitter
