Vision for Change Mental Health Policy Refresh DUBLIN
10:00 - 13:00
The National Mental Health Policy A Vision for Change came to the end of its 10-year term in 2016. Preparations for a review and updating of policy have been underway in the Department of Health since early 2016.
An external evidence and expert review has been completed as the first step in determining the parameters of a revision of A Vision for Change. This review provides evidence to determine the policy direction for a revision of A Vision for Change, both in terms of international best practice and the experience of implementing A Vision for Change.
An Oversight Group has been established to produce a high-level policy framework which sets out future service priorities. This Group will oversee the development of a refreshed policy for mental health, informed by the Expert Review. The policy review process will also involve and be informed by consultation with key stakeholders.
As part of this process, the Oversight Group would like to invite service users, mental health profeswsionals and other interested individuals to attend an open stakeholder consultation process in the Richmond Building, INMO, North Brunswick Street, Dublin 7 from10-1PM.
