Ten years on from 50x50, The Future and Hen’s Teeth present 60x60, an incredible cross-section of the nation’s best and brightest artists in one landmark exhibition opening at RDS on Thursday, November 2nd.

Returning talent from the original exhibition includes Detail design studio, with a piece that shows and evolution of their original design. Frequent Panti collaborator and Pony designer Niall Sweeney with an incredible series of 60 striking, abstract heads originally produced on cartridge paper. Lorcan Finnegan, a former Charlie Brooker collaborator and current director with Lovely Productions.

Some of 60x60’s newest additions include London-based animator and director Johnny Kelly with a piece entitled “‘You Will Die’, a motivational poster”, fine artist David Booth with an examination on identity and the self in ‘Uncanny’, sketch artist Jill Deering’s hyper realistic portrait of Sinead O’Connor and Studio Moross designer Oscar Torrans’ ode to the torn up DART tickets of youth in ‘Roached’.

Photographers such as seminal hip hop portraitist B+ (Brian Cross), original Dazed & Confused photographer Deirdre O’Callaghan, previous winner of the NME live music photo of the year award Dave Sexton and Rankin protégé Conor Clinch have also joined the ranks. Prints will also appear from more unlikely sources, including fashion stylist Aisling Farinella, jewelry designer Chupi and broadcaster and DJ Donal Dineen.

60x60 is an exhibition that provides a snapshot of where our cultural landscape and artistic forces lie. At the affordable price point of €60, each piece in the collection provides an accessible entry point for people to own original work by some of the country’s foremost visual makers.
