Welcoming back Yungen as he links up with outstanding newcomer, Yxng Bane for their new collab, Bestie. Parties, deserts and clubs giving the backdrop to a story all too familiar to the viewer, while finessing over smooth verses from Yungen and a afrobeat/rap fusion of a chorus, Yungen and Bxne fall for the same girl… or do they?
It’s the perfect track for the summer – infectious, energetic and bouncy, making this one of the most exciting artist link ups of the year of two of the hottest artists; with the anticipation building through Yungen and Bxne’s live teasing of the track!
Shortlisted on the BBC Radio 1Xtra One To Watch List in 2016 and maintaining his success through a string of releases, Yungen still stands as a standout artist able to play a sold-out show at KOKO earlier this year without a project! Tracks like “Take My Number” and “Do It Right” have highlighted the incredible storytelling of this South London native. MOBO nominated, Yungen has cut tracks with major players, from Sneakbo to Wretch 32 to Haile, to Krept & Konan.
Hailing from South London, twenty-three year old YUNGEN is a musician wise beyond his years and ready to smash into the music industry. If you haven’t already heard of him get ready for the imminent arrival of YUNGEN. As a musician YUNGEN is not only innovative and forward thinking but his independence and drive set him aside from his peers in UK rap.
YUNGEN began rapping as a kid in south London and in the ensuing years has worked with Krept & Konan, becoming part of their Play Dirty collective whilst and being endorsed by Stormzy. Other collaborators include Tinchy Stryder, Chip, Angel, G Frsh and Sneakbo. With Sneakbo he recorded “Ain’t On Nuttin’”, one of the biggest underground tracks of 2015 in the UK. All of which firmly established him as part of the new wave of UK rappers steadily infecting popular British music.
