He founded the dancer-led company, PROBE, together with Antonia Grove and alongside the 7 original dance works they commissioned, he was fortunate enough to perform existing works by Yasmeen Godder and Trisha Brown (Accumulation 1971).
Over the last 5 years, he has steadily built a reputation for creating compelling and visually arresting dances and in 2012, he launched his own company to develop a portfolio of work that explores the communicative potential of the body and the empathetic nature of dance in performance. Past company works include Hell Bent (2012), Ordinary Courage (2012), Of Land & Tongue (2014) and Chalk (2014). He has toured his work throughout the UK and internationally (Chile, Switzerland, Germany), receiving invites to present at British Dance Edition in Edinburgh and Cardiff, and at Internationale Tanzmesse NRW 2016, Düsseldorf. Since 2015, Theo has been devising work in close collaboration with the dance artist Leah Marojević. Leah regularly acts as a dramaturg, outside eye and advisor as well as performing in his company works.
Leah, originally from the UK, spent three months with Sydney Dance Company’s Pre-Professional Year after graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Dance in Melbourne, Australia 2013. Leah was the recipient of the Australian Council for the Arts, ArtStart Grant in 2015 and received the Orloff Family Trust award for ‘Most Outstanding Dancer’ in 2013. Leah is a contemporary dance artist who performs, makes performance, writes, teaches, directs and artistically supports other dance makers. Leah collaborates regularly with Theo Clinkard and Colette Sadler, and has worked with choreographers, visual artists and companies; Sarah Browne, Mirjam Gurtner, Candoco Dance Company, Clod Ensemble, Seke Chimutengwende, and Becky Hilton among others.
