I introduced this class in September and has been hugely popular. This is a gentle form of yoga that can be done sitting on a chair or standing on the ground while using the chair for support.
Chair yoga is a great practise for everyone, as it deepens flexibility and strengthens personal body awareness.
Frequently the chair yoga student is unable to participate in a traditional yoga class due to the effects of ageing or restriction stemming from disease and illness.
Chair Yoga works very effectively with students who have joint problems, like Arthritis, students who May have muscular problems like Fibromyalgia, bone problems like Osteopenia, Osteoporosis, neuromuscular problems like Parkinsons and MS.,and health issues such as: hypertension (high blood pressure), anxiety, chronic fatigue syndrome,, vertigo (medical), carpal tunnel syndrome and chronic pain.
