Gerald Peregrine is an established soloist, chamber and orchestral musician, who regularly performs in Ireland, Europe, the Americas and Asia. He has a diverse range of musical interests, and has gained much critical acclaim as a soloist and chamber musician.
Gerald is a member of the critically acclaimed Ensemble Avalon, who completed a 3-year residency as the first ever ensemble in residence at Trinity College Dublin. Their first disc was released on the RTE Lyric fm label to critical acclaim both at home and abroad.
As a chamber musician, he has performed with international artists such as Patricia Rozario, Andy Akiho, Ian Rosenbaum, Barry Douglas, Rosey Chan, Celine Byrne, Anthony Pleeth, Catherine Leonard. He has given numerous solo recitals in all the major venues in Ireland. He was the National Concert Hall’s rising star in 2004 and presented several sold-out concert series in Dublin featuring the complete works for cello/piano by Bach, Beethoven and Brahms, all recorded and broadcast by RTE Lyric
Gerald is a member of Trio Festivale, who since 2008 have toured extensively internationally, particularly in Asia and North America. They made their Carnegie Hall debut at Weil Hall in 2011. They most recently toured America in September 2018.
Gerald is also an established orchestral performer, regularly playing with Camerata Ireland, touring globally under the direction of Barry Douglas. He has performed in major concert halls in Russia, China, Finland, France, USA, Poland, Portugal, Spain, UK, Holland, Belgium, Italy, South Korea.
He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician at festivals in UK, Hong Kong and France. He has also held the post of co-leader at the Wexford Opera festival since 2005.
As a concerto soloist, Gerald has performed with all the major Irish orchestras, performing concertos by Elgar, Tchaikovsky, Haydn, Schumann, Lalo and Beethoven. He is regularly featured on Irish radio and released his debut CD in 2007.
In Feb 2014, he recorded the solo cello score to the John Boorman film ‘Queen and Country’ accompanied by the RTE National Symphony Orchestra. He has also been a featured soloist on scores for recent film productions by BBC One and Sky One.
In April 2018 Gerald undertook a 12-date violin/cello tour around Ireland, with violinist Elizabeth Cooney.
In August 2018, Gerald was invited to take part in the WMOF concert at Croke Park stadium, where he performed a solo for Pope Francis. The concert was broadcast live on RTE tv. He also performed for the Queen on her historic State visit to Ireland.
From the age of 15 Gerald commuted regularly to London for tuition with William Pleeth O.B.E. He completed his undergraduate studies as a Foundation scholar at the Royal College of Music under Steven Doane. Gerald also holds hons masters’ degree from the university of Limerick. He completed his postgraduate studies as a prestigious Fulbright scholar at Indiana University, under Emilio Colon and the late Janos Starker.
As an educator, Gerald has given masterclasses in Trinity College, RIAM, Cork school of music, Peking and Beijing Universities, Memphis University.
Gerald recently purchased a rare bow by Eugene Sartory, which was made possible with part funding under the Music Network instrument purchase scheme.

FIACHRA GARVEY:
Fiachra Garvey graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, London in 2013 with 1st class honours and distinction in the MA in Music Performance. This follows a 1st class honours B.A. in Music Performance from the Royal Irish Academy of Music in 2011 and a 1st class honours DipMus (performance and teaching) from the RIAM in 2008.
1st prize-winner at the 2012 Jaques Samuel Competition, London, Fiachra made his Fazioli Auditorium (Italy) and Wigmore Hall debuts in 2013. Fichra has also been a prize-winner at AXA Dublin International Piano Competition (Brennan Prize and McCullough Bursary), EU Piano Competition Prague (concerto finalist), 3rd Soirees-Concours Internationales de Piano a Collioure, France (Audience award) and Feis Ceoil Dublin (Morris Grant Bursary and Mabel Swainson award). The National Concert Hall Dublin awarded Fiachra the “Rising Star” prize in 2011.
Concerto appearances include the Janáček Philharmonic, RTE National Symphony Orchestra, RTE Concert Orchestra, Cambridge University Symphony Orchestra, RIAM Symphony Orchestra, Hibernian Orchestra and UCD Symphony Orchestra.
Recent recitals include Google Dublin, a series of solo and two piano recitals in Japan, duo recitals at St. John’s Smith Square, St. Martin in the Fields, and the Brighton Festival UK; and piano trio recitals at the West Cork Chamber Music Festival, Bridgewater Hall Manchester and The Geneva Festival, Switzerland.
Upcoming concerts include solo recitals at Market Place Theatre Armagh, Playhouse Theatre Derry, Strawberry Hill House Twickenham, Prussia Cove UK, and trio recitals at the Petworth Festival UK, National Concert Hall, Dublin and Wigmore Hall, London.
Fiachra’s debut CD “For the Piano”, under the Lyric FM label, was released in 2012: “brings a deep and infectious enthusiasm, combined with insight and technical comfort.” (Sunday times)
Fiachra’s second cd, a live performance from Wigmore Hall was released in 2014.
