Mac Macartney talk with Down to Earth Gorey
Mac Mcartney will speak about his work in inspiring a new story of sustainability and how we can reclaim the future for the generations to come. He will also speak about his journey as recounted in his book 'The Children's Fire'.
Mac Macartney is an international speaker, writer and change-maker who works in the area of authentic leadership and organisational change. Mentored by indigenous people over many years, he has acquired profound and original insights into questions preoccupying many contemporary leaders. Mac seeks to inspire the emergence of the leader in each of us, the leader who will take courageous action for a better world. Championing 'A New Story of Sustainability' lies at the heart of this.
In the winter of 2009, Mac Macartney set off, on foot, on a pilgrimage that would take him from Malvern to the Anglesey. He had no money, shelter, nor compass, and only food from the autumn harvest. He walked ancient tracts to listen to the soul song and stories of the land and to send a message to our tribal ancestors that we can together light a fire of hope connection and sacredness, for all the children of the future, for all species, seven generations hence. The story of his pilgrimage is recounted in his latest book 'The Children's Fire'.
