Hip Opening- Unfold your Hips to prepare for Lotus
Two classes on hips!
Morning class will be all those sequences to help open the hips and make them stronger.
Afternoon will take a deeper look at the hips and pelvis, how they work, how they can become unbalanced and how to resolve these imbalances.
This is especially helpful for anyone who does a lot of running, cycling, driving or sitting as these activities commonly lead to disfunction and muscle imbalances. It will also be a very useful workshop for those who want to gain a deeper understanding of their yoga practice or those who work with the body in any way to expand their knowledge. And of course this will be of great use to anyone who has experienced or is experiencing any hip, pelvis or lower back problems,
You can't force open your hips using a nutcracker but with awareness you can patiently open them through
the right circumstances and preparation.
Open hips leads to postures such as Lotus so we will look at how we can get on the path to Padmasana.
We will review the anatomy of the hips, their function and more importantly the energy system of the hips. We will look at accessing emotional negative feelings & energy which often lies dormant in the hips. By the end we aim to feel spaciousness, freedom and ease when we walk through life.
We will end the morning workshop with some pranayama to calm the mind.
We will go deep but don't panic we will have variations and modifications for everyone. Not for those recently after knee surgery.
